Have you ever thought about a role in Corrections? Corrections Officers are there working besides people in prison throughout their daily activities, providing ongoing opportunities to influence change and motivate positive decisions.
They supervise people's routines, help them to navigate prison life, escort them to hearings and appointments, and support them to engage in rehabilitation programmes. We are looking for a diverse range of candidates, from different cultures with varied backgrounds and experience. If you possess the following this could be the role for you: • Possess people skills and the ability to communicate clearly • Can operate with high levels of integrity • Have problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically • Can operate effectively in a culturally diverse setting and have an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi Kotahi ano te kaupapa, ko te oranga o te iwi – ‘There is only one purpose to our work: the wellness and wellbeing of our people.'
Job Requirements
• Successful candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and a MOJ check (Clean Slate doesn't apply) • Be able and prepared to complete a pre-employment medical and physical fitness test • Be able to work rostered shifts across a 24/7 pattern including weekends and public holidays • Have either a full, clean New Zealand driver licence or be eligible to obtain one within 3 months of acceptance. • Updated current CV with at least 2 contactable referees
