Rest Home Recreation Officer

Are you an outgoing, enthusiastic, bright and friendly person who enjoys working with the elderly. A local rest home is seeking an Recreation Officer to assist with the planning and implementing of activity programmes for their residents and you will be working with a friendly and supportive team.
The hours are full-time 31.5 hours a week Tuesday to Thursday from 12.30pm to 5pm and on Friday and Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
The roles suits someone who is: • creative, flexible and enjoys organizing activities and engaging with older people. • able to work cooperatively in a diverse team including our residents, their families, other staff member and our volunteers. • able to communicate well, who demonstrates empathy and patience with older people and observes client confidentiality • fun energetic and full of life.
Activities can range from doing physical exercise, music, organising housie and games, make-up, some cooking, crafts, gardens, bowls and parties and dances.

Job Requirements
Ideally you will need to hold a current full driver licence and you will have some previous experience working with the elderly in the same or a similar role but these are not required. You must also be able to pass a police check.
