Dairy Farm Assistant
About this job
* Milking *Feeding and safely handling stock and reporting any health and welfare issues, including droving livestock to milking and shearing sheds and between paddocks to ensure sufficient feed is available * Driving tractors and undertaking mechanical work on machinery * Operate and properly maintain milking equipment * Carry out general farm maintenances such as fencing and spraying, * Use and maintaining general farm equipment and vehicles, * Nutrient, effluent and water management work, * Following health, safety and wellbeing procedures.
Job Requirements
Candidates will have skills gained in previous dairy farming experience such as: Handling and care of livestock, machinery and equipment * Calf rearing * Shed cleaning and setup * Identifying and alerting managers to sick cows * Setting fences * Other general farm duties. The right attitude is key to work on this farm, we are looking for a team player who also uses initiative.
