A company based in Auckland are looking for a Mastic Asphalt Spreader Leading Hand to join their team.

The employee’s general duties and responsibilities will be: Laying Mastic Asphalt and waterproofing products / systems as required or instructed.

The role of a Mastic Asphalter involves the following duties: Measuring jobs and calculating the amount of asphalt needed. Cleaning and preparing the area. Working as part of a team with a pot-man or pot-woman who melts the blocks of asphalt, if necessary, adding color, fixing wooden battens as laying guides. Applying the asphalt between the battens, using wooden hand floats, and smoothing it level with a trowel, applying a second layer of asphalt, sealing the joints and perhaps finishing the surface with tiles, sand, wood chippings or a reflective coating, repairing or maintaining asphalt work.

Work will be based all across Auckland.

Job Requirements

Mastic Asphalting Apprenticeship or Mastic Asphalt Classification Certificate or similar ie City and Guilds And at least 5 years on the tools experience leading hand, must have experience supervising staff.

Applicants must have a full licence with reliable transport. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
