We seek several cooks/ assistant cooks for a Turkish/ Indian/ Asian restaurant. At our workplace, we bring Halal Turkish/ Indian/ Asian food to New Zealand. Work experience in a similar food industry will be an advantage for the candidate but not mandatory. The nature of the job requires loading and unloading meat/ vegetables/ food and other items to/from a chiller. The Chiller usually has freezing temperatures, and stock lifting may often be required.
Job Requirements
Require knife skills for cutting, chopping, and cubing meats, vegetables, and fruits. Prepares, washes, and cuts food to be cooked. Prepare soups and stocks according to specified recipes, ensuring that the right amount of seasoning is used per recipe. Prepare the vegetable stir fry. Marinating the meat items. Multitasks by cooking several different orders simultaneously, ensuring that all items are prepared following customer demand. Able to load and unload meats from a chiller (frozen temperature) Perform predictive, preventative, and regular maintenance on kitchen appliances (e.g., freezers, stoves, ovens). Oversee the cleanliness and sanitisation of kitchen areas, floors, and walls.
