Bee Worker- Kaitaia

An Orchard 30 minutes north of Kaitaia is seeking Bee Workers who are fit, drug free, with a good work ethic, have a good attitude, a team player and keen to work for permanent employment working with Bees.

Often called a Beekeeper, the role is to manage colonies of honeybees for the production of honey as well as pollination services. Your duties will be to: Maintain colonies of healthy bees for pollination and production of honey, Ensure sufficient food reserves, Construct hives and replace combs, Collect and package any hive products including honey, beeswax and pollen, Maintain strict control over diseases and pests, Identify and report hive health concerns, Prepare colonies for both production and wintering during season changes, Clean and maintain beekeeping equipment, Keep colony records and Assist in hive moves.

Must have a Full drivers licence (as you will be driving Company vehicles to the hives) and must not be allergic to bee stings.

Workdays are from Monday to Thursday, working 9 hours a day, Start time 7am to 4pm. Friday Start time is 7am to 1.30pm.
