Manual Tree Faller

A Forestry crew is seeking a Manual Tree Faller to join them in the cable harvesting crew. The team works across the Greater Wellington region providing high-quality forestry services. It is a high-risk industry that creates a strong 'forestry brotherhood' throughout the industry. If you are a successful candidate, you will join a supportive team that thrives while working together to achieve quality workmanship. Duties will include: Safely felling trees using manual techniques Assessing trees to determine the safest and most efficient felling methods Operating and maintaining chainsaws, axes, and other relevant tools Working in various terrains and weather conditions Collaborating with team members to ensure safety and efficiency Adhering to all safety regulations and company protocols Assisting in other areas of our forestry crew as required We will encourage training to assist in career progression within the company. We are looking for the following qualifications: Proven experience as a manual tree faller or in a similar forestry role National Certificate of Tree Falling L4 preferred but not essential Proficient in the use and maintenance of chainsaws and other felling tools Strong knowledge of tree species and felling techniques Physical stamina and the ability to work in challenging outdoor environments Certification in chainsaw operation and safety is preferred Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship Applicants must hold NZ Citizenship, Residency, or a Valid NZ Work Visa Consent to a Ministry of Justice criminal record check Pass a pre-employment drug test Be eligible to work in NZ A professional approach and ethical values are required by all our staff
