You will use your extensive experience working in public sector communications, to plan, deliver and provide strategic advice on communications activity that supports better outcomes for our communities.

A key part of this role is maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders such as ministerial and executive offices, media, and the Ministry's policy and partnerships teams.

Good knowledge of the machinery of government and strong writing skills, are essential in this role.

Job Requirements

We value a diverse range of talents and backgrounds. Our ideal candidate possesses the following skills and experiences that are essential for success in the role of a Principal Advisor, Communications: • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce work calmly under pressure. • Experience advising Senior Leaders on effective communications strategies. • Proven ability to lead, plan and implement communications projects. • A proactive and respectful approach to relationship building with diverse stakeholders. • At least 5 to 7 Years experience working experience in public sector communications. • Understanding of Pacific values and/or experience communicating with Pacific audiences is an advantage in this role. • Some leadership experience through coaching and mentoring is also advantageous.
