Recreation Officer

Our employer is looking for a Recreation Officer to join their team. This role will be a casual/on call basis opportunity for someone to fill in and pick up day shifts as needed. As a Recreation Officer, you will plan and facilitate recreational plans for residents, as well as the recreation programme for the Levin Home. This involves running daily activities with staff and volunteers, planning the social calendar for the home and supporting our residents to pursue their interests. You will encourage residents to maintain their independence, learn new skills and maintain connections within their community.
Job Requirements
We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in supporting the Recreational activities in our home. A qualification in diversional therapy is preferred, or alternatively a minimum Level 2 NZ certificate in Health and Wellbeing coupled with care assistant experience. Experience in a customer facing role and the ability to listen to people and work with them to support their needs Administration experience with some literacy A full, clean New Zealand drivers’ licence Experience working with elders would be advantageous
