Nursery Worker

Some of the Main Responsibilities include: Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems Planting and caring for plants in greenhouse settings regulate nursery conditions and indoor irrigation systems Organise potting media and containers for planting Operate machinery and equipment to fertilise, cultivate and spray crops Train workers in techniques such as planting, harvesting, pruning, weeding or insect identification and in the use of safety measures Harvesting, sorting, and packing of products Ensuring that all plants under their supervision have optimal temperature and humidity levels which allow them to reach their growth potential Record information about crops and plants growth Trap and destroy pests such as moles, gophers and mice using pesticides Pull out old plants and prepare the greenhouse for next crop Watering plants manually and controlling automatic watering operations Provide safe workplace by adhering to the health and safety policies of the company.
