Responsibilities may include: • Assisting with personal cares (showering and bathing) • Assisting with household management and meal preparation • Supporting exercise programmes • Assisting with accessing the community • Bowel, Bladder, and Catheter cares • Moving and handling hoists and manual transfers • Medication support
Job Location: Otago - Dunedin
Employment Type: Part Time (Up to 29 Hours) or Casual (Cover Shifts)
Days of Work: As this is community-based work, rotating rosters would be involved including am and pm plus weekend work. Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process.
The duration of these hours may vary, ranging from shorter to longer periods depending on the specific needs of the people we support.
About you: You are a calm but confident natured individual who can demonstrate resilience and understand the challenges of our service users. There are many responsibilities associated with being a support worker which can be challenging and fulfilling. It is rewarding when you are part of the support that enables a person to live their best lives in the community.
Pay Band: $24.13 to $30.03 per hour. This is based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017 hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity.

Job Requirements
You must have the below prerequisites to be considered for this role:
• Have a clean Full Class 1 Drivers License. • Have your own reliable transport to get to work. • Please note that if your application is successful, you will need to undergo a Police check due to the nature of working with Vulnerable Clients. • Hold New Zealand citizenship or have New Zealand Permanent Residency
