Class 5 Driver

Employer based in Hamilton looking for a Class 5 driver to transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Operate truck into positions to ensure proper position for loading and unloading. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. Keep a log of their activities. Follow all applicable traffic laws . Make sure that all loading documents are in order. Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Keep the truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order. Inspect the trailer before and after the trip, and record any defects that they find. Collect and verify delivery instructions. Clear criminal records. Driver's operating skills will be tested! Job involves carrying road aggregate, asphalt, chip and topsoil. Will be travelling to the wider Waikato , Taupo and Rotorua
