Housing Navigator

Our employer is a community-focused organisation based in Otaki, and is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join their team as the Housing Navigator.
This position will be for a fixed term of 12 months. To work with up to 10 clients/whanau at a time, providing Housing Navigation services to whanau with children, individuals experiencing mental health challenges, and those at risk of housing instability. This includes recipients of Emergency Housing Special Needs Grants (EH SNG) residing in non-contracted motels. In this role, you will be: Developing a collaborative working partnership with MSD Whanau focused and achieving their goals with housing Supporting whanau through hardship Completing referrals Quality Management and Improvement Completing administrative tasks
Job Requirements
Demonstrated experience in advocacy, navigation and/or brokerage type roles. Experience in health education wellbeing would be an advantage. Have the ability to identify and effectively respond to a complex range of issues Have excellent networking skills and experience Demonstrate success in optimising processes, resource management and leading teams Have strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire teams Excellent problem-solving skills Exceptional organising and multi-tasking skills Understanding of financial principles and budget management Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for efficient management Enthusiasm, productivity, and resourcefulness. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of Te Reo me ona Tikanga. Excellent personal management skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Professional demeanour and high level of integrity
