Kaitaia College is seeking an enthusiastic Human Resources/ Admin Team Member to join their team on a full-time basis during Term 3.

Duties include but are not limited to: • Advertising vacancies via the Education Gazette, local papers, Work & Income, Facebook and other recruitment platforms • Creating folders and sub folders for each vacancy/ applicant and distributing it to the panel as required • Ensuring all documents are signed and filed (application form, referee checks, letter of offer (LOO) and job description) • Creating staff folders, Education Review Office (ERO) matrix and drafting/ sending letters (eg: LOO and unsuccessful letters) • Updating and maintaining the staffing and allowance register, teacher registrations/Limited Authority to Teach (LAT) and teacher salary assessments • Maintaining and updating register for police vetting • Loading new staff to payroll and drafting letters for payroll changes (eg: allowance, fixed term) • Using Edpay for approved leave and any payroll changes • Annualisations/ start-of-year and end-of-year processing • Banking staffing • Relief/ Casual Timesheet entry • Other duties delegated by the principal

Job Requirements

Promoting cultural competence within the college Utilizing Te Reo Maori to enhance communication and engagement with whanau and students Drug-free and able to pass a pre-employment Ministry of Justice police check Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and present information to other middle/senior leaders/whanau/parents/caregivers and board of trustees Demonstrated knowledge of the rules, regulations and principals of the National Education Goals (NEGs) and National Administration Guidelines (NAGs) Ability to use baseline data to track/ record/ measure student achievement Knowledge of curriculum development and evaluation Excellent supervisory, administrative, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills Able to work effectively in a team environment with a learner-first focus Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with teachers, students and relevant external agencies High level of energy and excellent time management skills

Days of work
Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day. Term 3 only. 7:30am/8:00am - 4:30pm. (40 hours per week)

Pay rate is negotiated depending on experience.
