Local employer is seeking a Machine Operator. Employer is seeking a practical-minded individual with mechanical aptitude to operate our roll forming machinery based at our Whangarei manufacturing site. This role involves ensuring the machine's smooth operation, consistently producing high-quality products, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Specific in-house training will be provided, with hands-on guidance from the existing team. The successful candidate may also be deployed in other machine operator roles to gain a comprehensive understanding of the operations.

Employer is looking for a high performing individual with the following skills and experience:

- CNC machine operating experience preferably with purlin roll forming - Mechanical aptitude with the ability to conduct routine maintenance - Computer literate - Reliable and hardworking - The ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals - Awareness and understanding of industry safety practices and procedures - OSH forklift + overhead gantry crane certificates and experience would be advantageous - Ability to undertake QA checks, measure in-process and completed parts - Attention to detail - Operate machine to maximum efficiency in order to meet production targets and deadlines as set by the production schedule - Commitment to meet our quality and safety standards - Maintain a clean and hazard free workspace

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Licences: Trade or training within engineering - steel manufacturing, or another related field, is preferable Full NZ Drivers Licence F Endorsement (Forklift) Gantry Crane Certification NZQA 30072 and NZQA 3800 First Aid Certification - Desirable

Please Note:

A pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening will be required prior to the commencement of this role.

Applicants for this position must be currently living in NZ, have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Monday to Friday 6am to 2.30pm (35 hours per week)
