The Te Haemata Kaiawhina supports the operation and activities of Te Haemata Youth Space working closely with the Kairuruku o Te Haemata. This role involves engaging with rangatahi, facilitating programs, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the space, and assisting in the planning and execution of events and activities as delegated by the Kairuruku. The position aims to create a safe, culturally sensitive, and engaging environment where rangatahi can connect, explore their interests, develop leadership skills, and access valuable resources. By coordinating a diverse range of activities, workshops, and events, the Te Haemata Kaiawhina will play a crucial role in fostering personal growth, community involvement, and a sense of belonging among rangatahi, ultimately contributing to their overall well-being through Te Whare Tapa wha.

Job Requirements

We ask applicants to have the following: - A full NZ driver license - A genuine passion for youth development and community engagement - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Creativity and adaptability in program design and implementation - Experience in coordinating events or youth-focused activities is a plus - Commitment to creating an inclusive and safe space for all Rangatahi - No previous criminal record or convictions - Relevant Youth Worker Qualification or working towards a qualification in youth work. - Experience working with youth or young vulnerable people. - Resilience, flexibility, and a good sense of humor. - Sound judgment, risk management abilities, and the capacity to make tough decisions.
