Mount Wellington based Employer looking for an experienced Bar Manager.

you must be confident in taking responsibility for the daily operations of the business, optimising profit and ensuring guests are provided with the best service. You should be an 'all-round' hospitality professional with a diverse set of people and front of house skills. This is a broad position in a team environment - suiting a team player who would enjoy both attending to high standards and to the speed and coordination of a busy service. Working in a busy restaurant you will need to be well presented and have the ability to manage a stressful workplace.

Primary Function:

- Overall responsibility for the profitable operation and organisation of the Bar. - Set and manage drinks budgets. - Manage all bar staff - impart knowledge, skills and training to all staff to ensure high standards. - Manage staff rosters / staff records for the bar. - With the Chef plan the Restaurant menus from the beverage point of view. - Plan Restaurant beverage lists developing Cocktails and Mocktails. - Ensure all bar equipment and work environments are operational. - Arrange for bar equipment purchases and repairs. - Order and maintain inventory to ensure efficient operations. - Meet with suppliers. - Ensure compliance with the establishment’s host responsibility practices and adherence to sale and supply of alcohol regulations, if applicable. - Prepare management reports on the beverage sales and profitability of the business. - Any other duties the employer may reasonably require.

Job Requirements

You will have a minimum of 2 years experience in operating and managing a bar. Proven experience in developing Cocktail menus is a must. You will have at least 6 months experience in a similar position in New Zealand. You will hold a current Managers Certificate. You will be able to show an excellent understanding of working within a Middle Eastern Restaurant and managing alcoholic beverages in a culturally sensitive environment. Relevant business or hospitality qualifications are a bonus - Relevant experience and expertise working in the bar is mandatory.

Days of work
Rostered hours from Monday to Sunday, between 12pm to 4pm and 6pm to 10pm with 2 days off dependent on the roster. (40 hours per week)
