A dogs’ daycare and grooming centre is looking for an experienced and Professional Dog Groomer to join its team in Wairau Valley. In this role you will be responsible for providing solo professional grooming services tailored to various dog breeds; perform breed-specific grooming according to client specifications and industry standards; trim and style dogs’ coats based on breed characteristics and customer preferences; clean and express anal glands as needed during grooming sessions; thoroughly clean dogs’ ears to ensure hygiene and prevent infections; brush dogs’ teeth to maintain oral health and fresh breath; handle and restrain dogs safely and compassionately during grooming procedures; monitor dogs for any signs of health issues or abnormalities and report to pet owners if necessary; maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization of grooming tools, equipment, and work area; provide exceptional customer service by consulting with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and any special requirements for their dogs. Job Requirements

To be considered for this role you will have: • Minimum 3-years’ experience as a professional Dog Groomer, with expertise in breed-specific grooming techniques • Proficiency in bath washing, blow outs, de-sheds, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, nail trimming and teeth brushing • Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments with patience and care • Strong knowledge of different dog breeds, their grooming needs, and coat types • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and colleagues • Grooming certificate from a reputable grooming school or equivalent experience You must also be flexible to work on weekend days and able to pass a Ministry of Justice check.

Rostered shifts across Monday-Sunday, 7am-7pm (32 hours per week)

$30 - $37 per hour depending on experience
