About the role:

We are looking for full-time permanent Commis Chef to join our team. Hours of work are rostered across a 7 day week, so flexibility is required. As a Commis Chef you will be responsible for assisting with the day to day running of the kitchen and preparing food. Also involved in ensuring that excellent food hygiene practice is observed in the entire kitchen area.

Key Duties include :

Checking and verifying the quality and quantity of supplies. Preparing and cooking of food according to recipe, following the recipe to 100% Setting kitchen up for busy periods Ensuring stock is rotated to minimize wastage and Freeze and preserve food at correct temperatures Explaining to kitchen hand and looking after hygiene regulations. Ensuring good hygiene and health & safety at all times. Assisting Senior chef in kitchen. Tidying up food preparation areas after they have been used. Making sure that dishes are stored away properly. Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately. Dealing with deliveries.. Although experience is preferred, it is not essential. Job Requirements

Age 18 years or older. Diploma in Cookery or relevant experience of a minimum of three years. Ability to work in a Multicultural Environment. Team player and ability to work competently under pressure. Reliable and flexible to change. Must be able to work across any shifts including evening, weekends and public holidays. Must be fit, quick thinker, reliable, trustworthy and self-motivated.
