A Wellington based company who are a key player in facilitating economic growth through safe and efficient movement of cargo and providing supply chain solutions and expertises are looking for a suitable candidate to join their team as the Accounts Officer.

Your responsibilities as the Accounts Officer will include: • reporting to the Financial Controller and take charge of crucial responsibilities within the accounts function as well as delve into different aspects of finance.

• Accounts Payable Management: Efficiently handle invoice processing, account reconciliation and credit card administration. • System Maintenance: Administer our accounts payable software and provide user training. • Compliance and Records: Ensure adherence to internal policy and control requirements and maintain finance records. • Issue Resolution: Proactively address billing discrepancies with vendors and promptly resolve related concerns. • Financial Insight: Generate financial reports to facilitate decision-making processes. • Payroll Assistance: Provide reliable back up for payroll processing and resolve employee inquiries.

To be successful in this role, you will have: • 2+ Years Finance Experience in finance functions, preferably in accounts payable processes, controls, and their maintenance, with exposure to payroll and general accounting duties. • Experience with finance systems administration, enhancing operational efficiency. • Strong administrative capabilities and meticulous attention to detail. • Ability to effectively manage a diverse workload with varying deadlines and priorities. • Proficiency in MS Office applications, reporting software and systems. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely. • Proven ability to work effectively with individuals across different levels. • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
