About this job

We’re looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic person to join our team on our family-run apple, pear, and blackcurrant orchard in Tasman Village. We are looking for a staff member who can perform the tasks below or who is keen to learn the tasks below:

• Tractor experience, including hill work • Mechanical knowledge of tractors • Can spray and/ or holds a Growsafe Certificate • Holds a minimum of a New Zealand Full Driver’s Licence • Willing to work with people from different cultures • Drug-free • Apple/ pear thinning, pruning, and harvesting knowledge • Any horticulture knowledge • First Aid Certificate • Someone looking to make horticulture a career choice

At our orchard you are not a number and your contributions as a team member are valued, everyone’s input and effort counts.

We offer: • Starting rates from $24.00 to $26.00 per hour depending on skill level • Opportunities for further training • Working hands-on with Managing Director • Annual performance appraisals

Job Requirements

To be successful you will need your own transport, must be reliable, positive, happy to climb ladders and committed to 40hrs a week. Criminal convictions are considered on a case by case basis. Please send a cover letter and CV describing your suitability to perform tasks.
