Parakai Honey is seeking a reliable Production Operator to join their team in Helensville on a part-time basis.

The successful candidate will be on a casual contract, start + finish times and the duration of shifts vary between 4 to 12 hours depending on the production schedule.

The start times can be around 7am, 8am or 8:30am the latest. The finish times can be around 4pm, 5pm or 7pm the latest.

Duties include: - Honey processing - receiving and heating raw honey, transferring to the honey sink, filtering & thermalizing, rapidly cooling, blending & creaming, packing into jars & labelling, storing properly to ensure its ready for dispatch - Conducting visual inspections, monitoring production parameters, maintaining hygienic conditions, undertaking equipment calibrations. - Using PPE gear, following safe work practices, identifying hazards, knowing emergency procedures & reporting accidents.

Additional responsibilities include: - Shift work, operating machinery, conducting stock takes, inventory ordering, corrective actions, receiving/dispatching goods, performing aseptic sampling & data entry. - Troubleshooting minor equipment malfunctions, identifying deviations from standard production parameters & assisting with corrective actions. - Actively participating in identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement.

Job Requirements

- Previous experience in a food production/manufacturing environment is required - Knowledge on food hygiene and safety is desirable - Must be physically fit, role involves repetitive tasks, lifting boxes up to 18-20kgs, standing for long periods of time and working in a small area - Able to work independently & as part of a multi-cultural team - Full Class 1 driver licence with own reliable transport (rural work location) - Strong work ethic & commitment to quality & safety. - Basic computer literacy & ability to record information accurately. - Able to learn quickly & adapt to changing environment. - Drug-free as you will be around machinery - This employer is open to considering candidates with convictions on a case-by-case basis - Strong attention to detail & ability to follow instructions.

Days of work
4-12 hour shifts on a 6 day roster (Monday - Saturday). The start & finish times vary depending on the production plan. (20 hours per week)

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour
