The purpose of the role at Maori Womens Welfare League is to provide the successful delivery of the He Kete Aronui whanau centred programme by supporting whanau, addressing their needs to build their confidence to achieve their goals and to journey alongside whanau, to grow into their roles as first teachers and nurturers. As a Kaimahi in Whangarei you'll be in a fulfilling and sometimes challenging role where every interaction is centred around whanau-led decision making. You'll build trust, co-create solutions, and provide safe spaces for whanau to thrive – all through the lens of kaupapa Maori. The Kaimahi will be responsible for maintaining whanau data system, and develop and maintain relationships with whanau and our partners. The ideal applicant will have maturity, a deep understanding and extensive knowledge of the current issues whanau face on a day to day basis, and a focus on the strengths of whanau. Also have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, be flexible and highly adaptable to changing priorities, effective time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities, be self-motivated and have the ability to work unsupervised, sound judgement and initiative, strength in organizing, coordinating events, workshops and meetings. Job Requirements

1- Have a Full Class 1 Driver licence, in order to drive unsupervised with others. 2- Have you own vehicle to use for work-there is a mileage reimbursement. 3- Have at least 2 years of similar relevant experience- e.g. in ECE; being a parent is an advantage. 4- Have sound knowledge if the Microsoft Office suite. 5- Be able to converse in Te Reo Maori, even at a basic level. 6- Be available to be interviewed via video if suitable. 7- Be able to pass Police Vetting check, so no convictions or past relevant concerns.
