A family-owned and operated business going on 30 years strong in the industry is looking for a new Yard person to join the team. They are looking for someone who will become a valued team member, some people have been employed for over 20 years.

Reporting to the operations manager and working with the onsite team, you will be responsible for carrying out daily assigned tasks to process scrap metal for on-selling, ensuring compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures whilst working accurately and efficiently.

Your regular duties will include: • Ensuring proper handling of all metal processing, inwards and outwards • Help with organising incoming metals for on-selling • Safely loading of metal into bins and onto trucks • Perform maintenance on yard machinery and equipment • Regularly review own work processes and identify areas for improvement • Maintain daily tidiness of yard and workshop areas • Participate in team performance and productivity • Help create and maintain a collaborative team culture that focuses on health and safety • Maintain an optimal level of customer service • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients • Comprehensively understand and follow all health and safety procedures and standard operating procedures • Raise any hazards and risks with management • Monitor loading of bins and metals to ensure safe ‘loads’ on forklifts and trucks • Identify, investigate and eliminate all hazards – keeps own working area free of hazards

Days of work
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Rostered Saturdays 8:00am to 12:00pm (40 hours per week)
