We are looking for 2 Gardeners to service the Far North District Council communities and keep this part of Aotearoa looking beautiful!

The role will be based in the Waipapa/Kerikeri area. Duties include transforming our parks and reserves into havens of natural beauty by preparing and planting new gardens based on plans/contracts, maintaining gardens to specified standards, managing irrigation and watering systems, performing precise pruning, monitoring plant health for pesky pests/diseases and treating as needed (spraying insecticides and herbicides) as well as conducting audits and assessments of parks/ gardens.

Job Requirements

- Proven experience as a Gardener with a Level 3 Horticulture qualification and/or Grow Safe Certificate - Valid full Class 1 drivers licence + a reliable transport - Class 2 drivers licence would be a bonus - Previous experience in using a variety of mowers and small plant. - Ability to work to and meet deadlines. - Have a strong emphasis on health and safety. - Ability to work independently and within the wider team. - Physically fit and motivated to make a difference. - Able to pass a pre-employment medical, drug screening test and Ministry of Justice check, previous convictions may be considered on a case-by-case basis - Have an up-to-date CV with satisfactory references

Days of work
Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day between 7:30am - 5:00pm. (40 hours per week)
