Kitchen Role with Retail Sales

Coromandel based employer is looking for a Kitchen Hand. This is a varied role and the duties include: - cooking requirements in the kitchen and deep fryer, etc., i.e. cooking/reheating sale items - cooking chowders and seafood recipes to maintain stock in the shop - learning and maintaining the general preparation of food items for the kitchen - learn the set up and close down of the kitchen – cleaning etc. - serve customers - general house cleaning duties including maintaining health and safety requirements - answering and taking phone orders/queries, where necessary - communicating with other staff what needs reordering and restocking the kitchen and retail shop - processing various other products that are sold e.g. processing mussels, including bagging fresh, cooking, marinating and preparing any shellfish or wet fish as required - learn how to open and close the shop, which includes morning set up – front of shop and garden - learn how we balance the till and - make up a till float for the subsequent day’s trading - help maintain current Health and Safety reports and systems, which includes the required compliance documentation, e.g. the current TCDC Food Control Programme (taking temperatures, etc.) - package and dispatch wholesale orders where necessary as a support system - possible basic processing of oysters, e.g. packing or ‘meating’ and potting oysters
Fry and grill cooking People skills Food handling Communication skills, including when communicating with customers that have limited English Food safety certificate desirable Evidence of right to work in New Zealand
