A Blenheim employer is looking for Cherry Pickers. Daily tasks involved in the role includes single picking fruit off cherry trees into a bucket. A picking harness must be worn to hold the picking bucket. Fruit must be picked according to certain size, colour, ripeness, and quality standards. There occasionally may be hourly rated picking but this is very limited, and you must pick enough buckets to earn at least the minimum wage to retain your position. Picking is paid on contract per bucket + holiday pay + paid rest breaks and the rate is generally determined by the picking conditions. If contract rate not met it is paid at minimum wage + 8% HP. Job Requirements

To be successful in this role you must have cherry picking experience minimum of one season. You must be able to work outdoors in the heat and cold, do ladder work (working at heights), be able to carry a ladder between picking block and be fit and able to manoeuvre between branches. You must pass a pre-employment drug test and have no criminal convictions.

Days of work
5-6 days. 6-6.30am start. Finishing depends on weather and fruit (40 hours per week)
