With recent growth in services, there are several exciting opportunities to join one of Support worker Teams - a variety of full time and part time positions available. As a Support Worker you will work alongside people to provide day-to-day support. You will be supporting people with disabilities in a range of settings including in their home, out in the community and at day services. The people you support love getting out into the community, whether its shopping, beach walks, coffee and cake outings, visiting friends, supporting the Crusaders, going to markets and fairs, or heading to the pub for a pint, to name just a few. The people supported have varying levels of need, and daily tasks vary from service to service but may include cooking, cleaning, medication administration, stores purchasing, personal cares, as well as facilitating community participation, recreational activities, and supporting people to achieve their goals. You may also provide person-centred support in homes where routine is critical; following detailed plans to meet the needs of the people.

Job Requirements

We are looking for people who are resilient, self-motivated, empathetic, and who have a passion for helping others and making a real difference in people’s lives. You'll be a team player, with a positive outlook, able to problem solve using sound judgement and skills to manage risk and make thoughtful decisions. Previous experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities is not a requirement. But you will need a willingness to learn and continue to develop your skills as a support worker. You must have a full driver’s licence and be eligible to work in New Zealand. Candidates will need to complete police vetting and Children's Act safety check.

Days of work
Rostered 24/7 including weekend. Shift patterns include morning, evening, overnight (awake or asleep) and split shifts. (16 hours per week)
