MACKENZIE COUNTRY: Our employer in the beautiful Mckenzie District is looking for 3 x Field Operator to join our team. Do you enjoy working outside in stunning landscapes with a great team doing environmentally important work to protect New Zealand ecosystems? You would be part of a strong team supporting the management of wilding pines and other invasive plants, helping to protect our native eco-systems and wildlife around the Mackenzie District. You may already be living in Twizel or the surrounding Mackenzie District, but some of our team commute in and stay at accommodation arranged by us from Monday to Friday. We can consider those who want a full-time position as well as working with those who want part time or casual employment. There will be occasions where walking up steep terrain is involved in accessing sites, so a reasonable standard of fitness is expected, and our ethos is about working safely. Some chainsaw experience would be advantageous but not essential. A ‘can do’ attitude is a must. We use various tools and equipment to do this including chainsaws, scrub bars, loppers, and herbicides.

The following is preferred but not essential for applying for this role. • Chainsaw tickets. • Grow-safe Certificate. • First Aid Certificate. Hours and days are:
Hours: • 30 to 40 hours per week.
Days: • Monday to Friday. Less days if you wish.
Wage: • Pay rate $27.00 plus per hour depending on experience.
Short term accommodation may be available.

Job Requirements
You must have the below prerequisites to be considered for this role. • Ideally you would have 1 to 2 years’ experience in this field but are willing to employ someone that has transferred skills. • Be physically fit. • A ‘can do’ attitude. • Current Full Driver’s license • You must be able to pass a police check, as part of the employment process. • hold New Zealand citizenship, New Zealand Permanent Residency, or a Valid New Zealand Work Permit.
