You’ll be in charge of the kiwifruit yard, making sure the fruit gets the care it deserves as it is transported to site.
Lead our fantastic team of yard workers and make sure everyone stays safe at work. Keep our kiwifruit sorted, stored and looking good. It’s like fruit Tetris but in real life! Plan and manage site yard forklift fleet requirements. Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment. Monitor inventory levels and manage stock rotation. Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless post-harvest process. Maintain records and documentation as required by regulatory agencies. Manage site waste bins, ensure all reject fruit, process fruit, and plant waste are managed according to relevant protocols. Keep the site weed-free and vegetation under control with spray programs. Assist with managing budgets and expenses related to yard operations.

Job Requirements
What we need from you
Proven leadership or supervisory experience. Hands-on manager who is capable of effectively juggling many things at once You’re physically fit – this role will on occasion require heavy lifting. Full NZ Drivers License. OSH Forklift licence – safety first! A real people person with a natural talent for building trust and rapport with the team. A strong work ethic without sacrificing your sense of humour or your ability to have fun on the job. Attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency – kiwifruit don’t like to be mishandled. Computer savvy. Previous experience working in a similar role is preferable. You may currently be working in Logistics, Storeman, Yard supervisor type role. Travel to other Apata sites from time to time. Kiwifruit industry knowledge is advantageous – the more you know about kiwifruit, the better! And we’ve got some things for you, too
