Wharf Hand

Looking for an opportunity to become a part of New Zealands biggest Primary Industries? Our Picton Branch has picked up additional work loading log vessels and we are looking to build our pool of labour to meet ongoing growth. This role is manual and involves assisting on the wharf with the loading of log vessels, ensuring that bundles of logs are secured with wires to ensure cranes can safely lift the logs onto the vessel. No experience is necessary as full training is provided, however you do need to be physically fit and comfortable working in an outdoor environment.

A competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to work in a team environment and learn new skills. A variety of shifts are available over a 24/7 period. The hours available can vary from week to week dependent on shipping schedules. A Stevedoring Career Pathway is on offer for people keen to develop through our company.

Starting rate @ $23.00ph, top tier $40.00ph.
