Broccoli Harvester

A Chertsey (approx 20 kms north of Ashburton) employer is looking for people to harvest vegetables by hand, cutting the broccoli with a knife, packing the broccoli into crates and stacking the crates. Also drive a tractor as required. These are full-time permanent jobs starts early October and runs through until the end of the courgette season. . We are looking at creating a team of people who can to continue on after Christmas harvesting courgettes until the end of April 2024. You need to be reasonably physically fit and agile - with a great attitude/mind set and be reliable as you are part of a Team. Health and safety is extremely important to our employer and you will need to adhere to the policies in the work place. The Employer supports a smoke free work environment. Working 6 days a week (with one rostered weekend day off) - depending upon the demand and weather. Start time 7.30am. to 5.00pm, working 8 to 9 hours a day (between 30 to 55 hours per week) As the broccoli must be harvested you will find yourselves working in a variety of challenging conditions – wind, rain, sun and cold. Must be legally able to work in New Zealand
