Mental Health, Support Worker

A local Te Kuiti employer based 10km out of Te Kuiti is looking for mental health and addiction support workers to assist whanau living at the residential location with 8 - 10 residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion to support whanau battling mental health and addiction and be keen to gain a formal qualification to be able to best support whanau. You will have a knowledge of Tikanga and be capable of building a good repour with the whanau that reside in the residency. You will have a passion for people and will thrive on coming to mahi for the betterment of whanau. You will have a full clean drivers license so you can support residents by taking them to any appointments. Due to the rural location, you will be required to also have your own reliable transport, location of the premise is strictly confidential so as not to disturb any of the residents. The role is permanent full-time 40 hours per week, you will need to be flexible with your hours as the work will be rostered with night mahi also required. If this sounds like you apply now!
Job Requirements
Must be able to pass a criminal conviction check. Full clean drivers license with own reliable transport the hours of work are rostered 8-hour shifts, with an additional sleep over from 10 pm to 6 am, minimum hours per week 40. Willing to study toward a qualification. Able to and willing to work within a team. Ideally you would have experience in the physical health space with diabetes, disabilities heart disease, cancers etc. as there are some whanau with duel diagnosis as well as physical & mental health, all though this is not necessary this is an advantage when applying for this role.
