Apprentice Line Mechanic

We are looking for an Apprentice Line Mechanic – A lifetime career for the right person! You will be working for a well-established South Wairarapa Electrical Line Company that provides a range of services including power line construction and maintenance, new power connections, underground reticulation and new subdivisions as well as pole assessments. You will complete an NZQA apprenticeship leading to a rewarding lifelong career – No need for a Student Loan! You will need to be mechanically minded, physically fit and enjoy working in the outdoors.

We are looking for someone who: • Has an understanding or interest in the electricity industry • Is keen to learn new skills • Has sound literacy and numeracy skills • Have a great work attitude and show initiative! • Good communication and computer skills • Has a current NZ Driver Licence (minimum restricted) • Have normal colour vision to distinguish between different circuits and cables Prior experience in the industry is not necessary, as full training will be provided to ensure you work safely and efficiently. Pre-employment and ongoing drug & alcohol testing applies.
