ROLLERSTON: We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our team and play an important role in curating our delectable menu.
As a Chef at our gelato and coffee shop, you will be responsible for executing a diverse range of menu items, including gelato, pastries, savoury brunch offerings, and various sweet and savoury treats. You will receive training on the gelato making process to reach our standards.
Duties include but are not limited to: • Create and prepare gelato flavours. • Craft a variety of pastries, including croissants and sweet treats. • Design and prepare savoury brunch items such as sandwiches, quiches, and others. Execute recipes for sweet and savoury treats, catering to diverse preferences and dietary requirements. • Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste. • Monitor inventory, order supplies, and maintain stock levels. • Collaborate with the team to uphold food safety and sanitation standards. • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new ideas into the menu.
Hours and days are:
Hours: • 40 Hours per week. Days: • Wednesday to Sunday 6.30am to 4pm. Wage: Pay rate is $27.00 to $29.00 per hour, depending on experience. You must have the below prerequisites to be considered for this role: • 2 years proven culinary experience as a Chef, preferably in a pastry-focused setting. • A creative and innovative approach to menu development. • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and a small team. • Ability to work by themselves in the kitchen. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays. • You must be a New Zealand citizen, or hold New Zealand Permanent Residency, to apply for this role. • The successful candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment police check and drug test, as part of the employment process
