Health care and Community support work available

Would you like a job where you can make a genuine difference in people’s lives? Have you considered support or caregiving work? Or laundry, gardening or cleaning work in a resthome? We work with community and disability support providers and resthomes throughout Wairarapa to find kind, caring, capable and reliable staff. There are a wide variety of jobs available including kitchen, health care assistant, laundry and cleaning with workplace assessed pay progressive NZQA qualifications. Clients are of all ages - they may be elderly, have an intellectual or physical disability or be recovering from illness or surgery. Your place of work could be in someone’s home, a community-based group home, a residential facility or a resthome. Job tasks are varied and interesting and may consist of some of the following: community outings, assistance with dressing and/or mobility, personal cares (in some jobs this is minimal), household management. Hourly rate paid is dependent on the type of job you are successful in gaining.

A Drivers licence is not always required. Some of the jobs do include alternate weekend work and and/or rostered hours. Wakeovers and sleepovers a couple of nights a week can be a great way to supplement your income. Some criminal convictions will preclude you from these positions. Full time, part time and casual jobs are available. If you would like to work fixed hours of your choosing please talk with us.
