About this job

A recently developed Avocado Orchard in Te Kopuru requires a Manager to oversee all operations. Duties will include: • Managing pest and disease processes in conjunction with AVOGREEN processes. • Ensure timely application of fertiliser and other critical inputs. • Follow management programmes as supplied to ensure maximum production and optimize fruit size. • Ensure hives on site are kept safe and not subject to exposure of chemicals or processes that may be detrimental to the bees. • Arrange implementation of pollination programmes. • Ensuring implementation of best practice guidelines around irrigation management, irrigation systems, frost mitigation, and artificial and permanent shelter as per best practices. Must be capable of creating and maintaining a positive work environment for employees with a focus on Health and Safety, performance, adhering to company policy and employment guidelines. Must also complete administration tasks, record accurate data and report to the general manager.

Qualifications / Experience  Appropriate formal qualification and management experience  Current clean driver’s license  Intermediate level of MS office suite  Proven organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, prioritize activities  Exceptional communication skills - written and oral  Confidentiality can always be guaranteed  Extensive knowledge of New Zealand native plants, in particular revegetation species occurring naturally in the Auckland and Northland regions.  Te Reo and knowledge of Ngati Whatua me Te Uri o Hau tikanga would be advantageous
