A nursery in Te Arai are looking for a Dispatch Co-Ordinator to start immediately. The purpose of this role is to assist the Nursery Production Manager to efficiently manage production in the area of potted plant nursery operations. This will consist of giving practical effect to the operational plan for all potted plants being grown on the nursery sites. Duties will include: Plan and schedule dispatch activities, considering order priorities, delivery routes, and transportation options as required ▪ Prepare dispatch orders accurately, ensuring that the right plants and quantities are packaged for each delivery. ▪ Coordinate with delivery partners and logistics providers to arrange timely and efficient deliveries. ▪ Monitor delivery schedules and provide updates to clients and the team regarding their orders. Implement streamlined processes for dispatch to optimise logistical efficiency to minimise errors and costs. Be capable of documenting and reporting, maintain accurate inventory records to reflect real-time updated stock levels, be health and safety conscious and follow all site protocols, and have clear and open lines of communication.
Job Requirements
Qualifications / Experience ▪ Has knowledge and competent experience in MS Office Suite ▪ Has a high level of attention to detail ▪ Intermediate level of MS office suite ▪ Proven organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, prioritize activities ▪ Exceptional communication skills - written and oral ▪ Confidentiality can always be guaranteed ▪ Extensive knowledge of New Zealand native plants, in particular revegetation species occurring naturally in the Auckland and Northland regions. ▪ Te Reo and knowledge of Ngati Whatua me Te Uri o Hau tikanga would be advantageous Skill and Personal Attributes ▪ Initiative – ability to identify, prioritize, and execute multiple layers of work without direct supervision ▪ Commitment to Task – ability to persist and accomplish work in spite of obstacles, setbacks, and distractions ▪ Results focus – ability to understand desired end results and organize, adapt, and manage resources to achieve it ▪ Supervisory Leadership – ability to task others with clear instructions and standards, motivate them to carry out the work to standard, and monitor work to ensure completion while maintaining positive relationships and high ongoing productivity ▪ Quick Learner – ability to utilize multiple sources, without direction, to undertake appropriate study on the background information and scientific knowledge required to be champion best practice ▪ Problem solver – ability to analyse, diagnose, and correct problems in nursery systems without specific training in those systems. To start of with a 6 month fixed term contract with the potential to become permanent for the right person. 90 day trial will also be in place.
