Mower and Tractor operators

Islington, Hornby: an employer is seeking a Mower Operator and a Tractor Operator. These are both full time positions.

As a Mower Operator, you will deliver a high standard of mowing and other activities to client requirements based on best horticultural practices and industry standards, which include mowing, lawn maintenance, use of weeding equipment and chemicals. For this position, you will need to have 2 years’ experience operating a range of ride-on mowers, complete daily job records, daily pre-start procedures, managing and reporting any issues that arise on site and seek to provide solutions.

As a Tractor Operator, you will be working in and around the Greater Canterbury Region, and other areas of the South Island to deliver a high standard of roadside mowing maintenance as well as having the opportunity to learn to operate a range of plant in the mowing off season such as dozers, dump trucks, loaders, and rollers. For this position, you will need to have experience operating tractors, working in busy roadside environments and open park-like areas, with the ability to control and operate different type of tractor implements at a high standard is essential. HSE documentation must be completed as required and you will need to have good mechanical knowledge to independently perform minor repairs and maintenance on tractors, tractor implements, mowers, and mowing attachments. Experience operating mowers and tractors with different implements in a roadside environment is advantageous but not required.

To be successful in these roles, you will need a Full NZ driver licence with class 2 and WTR endorsements as an advantage. These roles may require to work away from the home base and therefore, you will have the ability to be flexible and adaptable, self-motivated, work well within a team, and/or unsupervised, and need to pass pre-employment checks including police, drug, and alcohol.
