Deck Hand needed for a busy boat tours/cruises company based in Mt Maunganui. This role requires a flexible approach to work hours/days as scheduled cruises run on a 7-day roster, and can be during the day or well into the night. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be able to help cruise-goers with getting on/off the boat as well as addressing any queries and needs. You will also assist with operating, maintaining and cleaning the boat between cruises. Training includes emergency procedures, the safe selling of alcohol, cash handling/EFTPOS and can lead to qualifications in First Aid and Liquor Control. The successful candidate will be able to work well in a team, be disciplined with good attention to detail, have previous customer service skills, able to stay calm under pressure (especially in an emergency situation), and be able to take instruction. Initially the work will be part time casual but will lead to full time from November.
