Summertime Community Ambassador/Guardian

6 month contract with the New Brighton Guardians Program We are on the lookout for a like-minded person to join us and uphold our commitment to community safety in New Brighton. We are currently on the hunt for a qualified security person for our new community ambassador/guardian patrols in the New Brighton Mall (and surrounding area). Be a part of a truly rewarding community based ambassador program, making a real difference in our community. 32 hours per week. Thursday to Sunday - 11am to 6pm. Negotiable $28 to $32 per hour.

• Be committed to promoting a welcoming and safe environment in the New Brighton Mall area • Have great engagement and people skills • Be a highly skilled communicator and be committed to establishing excellent relationships with a wide variety of local residents, community groups and local businesses • Be physically and mentally capable of conducting daily walking patrols • Have strong experience in conflict management • Have superior abilities in de-escalating potential incidences of conflict and be able to provide restraint and similar support techniques • Have relevant professional or life skills • Have excellent reporting skills and be able to use computer based reporting methods • Be realistic, tolerant and resilient • Have a non-judgemental attitude • Be able to pass a police vetting VCA check • Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand • Have a current full drivers licence
