Are you interested in conservation work and learning more about how you can help preserve the environment we live in? Conservation New Zealand are currently looking for General Workers to join their team in the Auckland region. This is a 12 week program including 2 weeks of pre-employment training followed by 10 weeks paid employment. Candidates must be able to commit to 24 hours per week, Tuesday to Thursday. Duties include but are not limited to native tree planting; nursery work; pest control; weed and native plant identification; water testing and other duties as needed. If you enjoy working outdoors, want to gain qualifications in Grow Safe weed spraying certification, Scrub Cutter theory and practice certification, and First Aid. Lunch, uniforms and transportation (via a common pick up point) are provided. Get in quick as spots are filling up fast! THIS IS NOT A JOB OPPORTUNITY. This is a 12 weeks Conservation Programme.
The ideal candidate will be physically fit and available for 9am to 5pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (pick-up/drop off available). Convictions considered per case basis. Lunch, uniform, pastoral care, links to employment and support with driver licence will be provided.
