Pumps Trade Assistant

An inclusive company in Christchurch is currently seeking a Trade Assistant to join their vibrant team. You will be required to work on repairing and maintaining mechanical assets and pipework that's associated with water and wastewater pump station infrastructure, in accordance with contact specifications.

Ideally, you will have experience working on water and wastewater infrastructure assets and welding experience.

We are looking for someone who is well presented, able to work unsupervised as well as in a team environment, be willing to assist the team as required and work flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities:

- Carry out physical and manual work involved with general maintenance activities - Complete assigned jobs to contract specification - Operate and maintain small plant and equipment associated with assigned jobs - Ensure vehicles are adequately stocked to respond quickly to urgent calls and maintenance jobs - Complete timesheet and job detail documentation accurately - Undertake appropriate pre-work checks and record as required

A First Aid Certificate and Site Safe Certificate is desired but not essential.

- Hold a full class 1 license. - Flexibility - Reliable transport - Be qualified in Traffic Management / Have an STMS. - Have commercial and/or industrial pump experience. - Passing a medical assessment and drug and alcohol testing. - MoJ checks are required and considered on a case by case basis.
