In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day vineyard duties focused on the seasonally relevant and time critical collection of viticultural data. As a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual, you’ll be a part of a proactive team who are passionate about creating wines that you’ll want to share. This role is based in Blenheim and covers both company owned and leased vineyards across the region as well as occasionally supporting the grower program. The role is mainly based around business hours, with flexibility required during the frost season in spring and harvest.
Some of the activities you’ll be doing: - Collection and recording viticultural and environmental data. - Maintaining and updating data bases. - Verification of sprayer and irrigation system calibration and accurate performance during seasonal vineyard operations. - Pest and disease monitoring. - Report research and writing. Job Requirements
This is a permanent role and requires the following: - A current, full driver’s license. - A good level of physical fitness. - Previous training and/or experience in viticultural science – ideally post-secondary qualifications. - Ability to work independently and be self-motivated. - Exposure to handling multiple deadlines. - Quality focused. - Positive attitude – a love of working outdoors, the role involves a lot out field work.
You must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
