College Hostel Supervisor

College Hostel Supervisor. We have been given the opportunity to assist a well-established and sought-after private school, in finding multiple Hostel Supervisors for their Girls and Boys college. The purpose of this position is to provide a safe and caring environment for all students within the Hostel complex. The Hostel Supervisor is required to support the Hostel manager and to ensure the needs of the students are met and the hostel runs according to policy and legal requirements. The Hostel Supervisor shall promote the Anglican faith and Tikanga Māori to ensure that the living environment reflects the special character of the Colleges. This is a shift rostered full time position at 40 hours/week. Key Duties • Assisting the Hostel manager. • Pastoral care of students. • Crisis management. • Administration and student/whānau management. • Implement restorative meetings. • Assist in Planning and Review. • New whānau orientation. • Assist appointment and development of leadership of senior students as a mentor. • Promote Tikanga Māori and the Anglican faith as the special character of both colleges. • Assist appointment and development of leadership of senior students as a mentor. • Promote Tikanga Māori and the Anglican faith as the special character of both colleges. Experience Required • Experience working with students in a residential and educational setting. • Previous experience with involvement in the Anglican faith. • Experience in crisis management. • Proven experience in exerting disciplinary action and/or Restorative conferences with youth. • A sound level of computer literacy with good keyboard skills. • Ability to effectively carry out organizational planning. • Full driver license. • Current First Aid Certificate would be a big advantage. • Clear Ministry of Justice vetting.

This role involves working rostered shifts that are changeable, so flexibility is key. Speaking Te Reo Maori is beneficial as this is a Māori environment, nurturing, educational setting.
