Lead Cook

An Employer in Taradale is seeking an experienced Lead Cook who is Honest and Reliable to oversee the effective and efficient running of the kitchen, and to ensure that food is prepared to a high standard and served in a timely manner. There is multiple growth and learning opportunities along the way!.

Some duties will include: • To ensure the kitchen is adequately staffed at all times. • Work with the Kitchen Manager/ General Manager to supervise the training of new staff and ensure that training initiatives and policy updates are communicated to the relevant staff. • Prepare and cook food according to the menu • Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager/ General Manager to design, plan and price menus • Ensure the kitchen and all equipment is kept tidy and that a high standard of hygiene is maintained at all times • Ensure all kitchen equipment is fully functional and meets Health and Safety requirements • Ensure that stock levels are maintained and order stock when and where required • Ensure reports and administration requirements are promptly submitted • Be aware of trends in the industry and make suggestions for improvement

Experience is required and you must have either NZ residency or a valid NZ work Visa. You must be currently living in NZ.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: • National Certificate in Hospitality – Cookery (Level 4) • Knowledge of Health and Safety Law • Knowledge of Food Safety Requirements and Relevant Unit Standards • At least 3-5 years’ experience as a chef
