Whanau Ora Navigators required - In essence this is an advocacy role with a view to ending homelessness for local whanau. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will become an advocate for whanau, supporting them into emergency, transitional or permanent housing. You will work closely with other professionals (Support workers, social workers) and play your part to create a healthier Aotearoa. It would suit a person who is compassionate, kind, and motivated by doing the right thing. Part of the role involves providing information to clients. Connecting them to both government and non-government agencies and providing advocacy when interacting with these agencies. Reconnecting people to the whenua and their whakapapa, helping them to understand their story is vital to the success of this role. Applicants must have a keen interest in making a difference and doing something great for the local community
Job Requirements
- Must have a Full Drivers Licence - Technology. Microsoft Suite, CRM and note taking - Communication Skills. Confident, Customer-Centric, Clear and concise are words that could be used to describe you -Experience in working with advocacy work and/or a passion for the industry - Understanding of the Te Reo Maori world view, Whanau Ora, and the key values of Manaakitanga, Whanaungatanga, Rangatiratanga and Kotahitanga
