HORNBY: Our employer in Hornby is currently seeking a Class 2 Driver to join their team. This is a role with responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional collection of scrap metals from a wide range of customers. It also includes safe, professional, positive, and pro-active customer service. Measures include feedback from customers, minimising incidents, quality measures and timely completion of tasks. Adherence to health and safety procedures and efficient time management are essential in this role. There will also be responsibility for additional tasks as delegated by management. Duties and responsibilities: Customer Service: • Satisfied customers are the key to our success and drivers are the ‘face’ of the company. • Drivers are expected to provide exceptional service to all customers and politely ensure their compliance to all safety regulations. • Customer service is always to be considered as a priority Driving Drivers are responsible for: • Driving company vehicles to perform several tasks. • In doing so drivers are expected to adhere to all legal and company requirements
Collection of Metals: • Drivers are responsible for the collection of metals from a wide range of customer sites. • These collections are expected to be undertaken in accordance with company procedures. Maintenance: • Drivers are responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant truck.
Other Duties: • During times when driving duties are not available, such as when trucks are being serviced, or customer bookings are low, drivers will be diverted into the main yard to assist with operations.
This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday between 7.30am – 5.00pm. Pay Rate is to be discussed during the interview process with applicant.
Job Requirements
You must have the below prerequisites to be considered for this role:
• Class 2 License • Dangerous Goods Endorsement • Demonstrated skills in practical and physical work • High level of accuracy and attention to details • Adaptable to changing demands of customers and the business • Able to effectively manage numerous and at times conflicting tasks / priorities • Positive communication skills and able to maintain confidentiality • Able to self-motivate and take initiative • Able to work unsupervised and stay on task • Honest, ethical, and transparent • Exceptional customer service focus. • Able to cope with repetitive physical work and maintain focus all day. • You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, as part of the employment process. • hold New Zealand citizenship, New Zealand Permanent Residency • Convictions case by case. – no violence convictions
