Warehouse/ counter sales – North Shore

A well-established North Shore- based employer is on the hunt for a reliable and energetic counter sales/ warehouse person to join their team. The company is well known for electrical supplies and most importantly its excellent customer service.

You will be reporting to the Branch Manager, your role will have the drive and initiative to ensure the customers get the right product and experience an exceptional level of service every time they deal with the company.

some experience in warehousing or customer service is an advantage, more than anything – we employer is looking for someone with the right attitude. You’ll be willing to get stuck in with all aspects of warehousing and counter sales in our branch.

Although this role is predominantly warehouse-based, you will initially learn our warehousing processes, and in time progress to understanding the counter sales function.

With lots of variety in this role, some of your key responsibilities include: • Receiving, unpacking and inspecting incoming goods in a timely manner • Delivering items to customers on time, providing accurate paperwork with goods • General administration of all stock data and records, and merchandising duties • Heavy lifting, e.g. cable rollers and drums, bulky items (ducts) and pallet stacking • Measuring cable and following good Health and Safety practice when using cable cutting machine Serving customers over the counter, phone and email re: sales orders and enquiries • Picking goods and collection of cash/payment. Customer account queries (credits, returns) • Supporting the maintenance of branch standards (stock, cleanliness, shelves, etc.) • Ensuring Health & Safety protocols are adhered to at all times.

Note: You will be required to do one rostered Saturday each month from 8.30am – 11.30am.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be physically fit as some products you will be unloading from trucks and storing can be heavy, and you will be on your feet for most of the day. A clean restricted or full driver’s licence is required to support your application. There will also be some forklift work required, as well as deliveries to job sites.
