Service Desk Officer
About this job
Being a collaborative customer focused IT team member, means you will be providing support across the organisation ensuring availability, reliability and business continuity of all systems and applications.
The business users span across the Kapiti region from Paekakariki to Otaki, and this role will be the main mobile support providing in-person assistance to our business users on-site.
Ideal candidate will have an engaging friendly personality together with a very successful background providing outstanding IT Desktop & Service Desk Support; someone who has experience in management of service desk tools, knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft operating environment and application suite, excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to build strong partnerships and working relationships.
• 3-5 years’ experience in the operation and deployment of ICT, desktop support services. • Competency across a variety of computer platforms including Microsoft OS, Apple OS, and Office 365. • A sound working knowledge of printing and Audio-Visual technologies used in business. • Experience and confidence in using remote support tools and engaging in face-to-face user interactions. • Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service; willingness to, and capability for, working with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to explain technical jargon in easily understood 'lay' terms. • Ability to prioritise work requests and follow-up issues according to Council business requirements. • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised, pay attention to detail, and remain results focused. • Experience working effectively in a team environment; to share knowledge and motivate others to use and enhance their knowledge and skills of new technology. • Relevant tertiary/industry related study (preferred). • Ability and willingness to be on-call. • Holder of a current and valid Full NZ Drivers' licence.

Job Requirements
Must be able to pass a pre-employment alcohol screening test, drug test, police check and a credit check.
Must have 3-5 years’ experience in the operation and deployment of ICT, desktop support services.
Must have your full class 1 drivers licence and reliable transport.
Must also be eligible to work in New Zealand.
Must have your Cover Letter, CV, a copy of your Work Visa (if applicable) and your Drivers Licence ready for your application.

- Monday to Friday, hours TBD. Must have the ability to be on-call (40 hours per week)
